Trump voters are increasingly dissatisfied with the president’s early response to COVID-19. 40% of 2016 Trump voters say he didn’t take it seriously enough—up 17 points from early last week.

Honored to be a guest on  @Lisa Birnbach's "5 Things" podcast. We talk about the  #COVID19 federal response, as well as some ways to survive being at home. It's available on all major podcast platforms. Hope you'll listen in.

I needed to ask an expert about handling #COVIDー19. Please listen to this week's podcast with @ChrisLu44. He's smart & disciplined, as you would hope a senior White House veteran would be. #ObamaWhiteHouse, that is.

My cousin lost her husband this morning to this terrible virus, and the only reason she was able to be at his side is that she is also hospitalized. We are grieving today. And I am so angry.

"The failure has echoes of the period leading up to 9/11: Warnings were sounded...but the president was deaf to them until the enemy had already struck" Trump wasted 70 days before recognizing the threat of  #COVID19 How much damage could've been averted? https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2020/04/04/coronavirus-government-dysfunction/?arc4...

By law, firing an IG requires the President to provide a reason. That means a valid reason. “Loss of confidence” that results from the IG exercising his independence and doing his job is not a valid reason. This requires immediate oversight hearings. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/03/us/inspector-general-intelligence-fired.html

Once again  @Donald J. Trump just gave the middle-finger to oversight ... the $2 trillion bailout is really a bank-heist in broad daylight ... https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/04/03/trump-coronavirus-inspector-general-brian-miller/

Trump’s dead of night decision to fire ICIG Michael Atkinson is another blatant attempt to gut the independence of the Intelligence Community and retaliate against those who dare to expose presidential wrongdoing.

It puts our country and national security at even greater risk.

Susan Collins in February: “I believe that the president has learned from this case. The president has been impeached. That's a pretty big lesson." When you retaliate against an IG during a national emergency, it’s a pretty good sign that absolutely no lesson has been learned.

Trump today said "all sorts of bad things can happen" from mail-in balloting In 2017, Trump family tried absentee voting: Trump got his birthday wrong Melania didn't sign the envelope Ivanka mailed ballot in late Jared didn't mail it back at all https://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/melania-ivanka-jared-mayoral-election-votes-didn-count-art...

Opinion: Andrew Yang was wrong. Showing our "American-ness" is not how Asian Americans stop racism. https://wapo.st/3bNSu4z

Salute to @weijia who stood up to Trump and pressed him on his bull💩 .

Well done Weijia.

For  @Chris Lu "in case you missed it file" the only 2 issues the Senate is working on are 1) Ron Johnson confirming his "investigation" of Hunter Biden is ongoing; & 2) Mitch McConnell teeing up a 37-year-old Federalist Society lawyer for appointment to the DC Cir Ct of Appeals

Buried in this story is Kudlow weighing in on SBA loan program: "I do not see any barriers or roadblocks. They are ready" That's right. The same guy who said:  #COVID19 was "contained...pretty close to air tight"; stocks were cheap in Feb., and tax cuts would pay for themselves

While Democratic and Republican Governors across America are struggling to find lifesaving medical supplies, like ventilators and masks, U.S. companies have been shipping those same supplies to *other countries* — and @realDonaldTrump let it happen. #COVID19 #Coronavirus

If you want to know why Trump has such terrible ratings among people in the military, you don't have to look much beyond the treatment of Captain Crozier. Trump pardons Eddie Gallagher but allows Crozier to be relieved of his command.

Here is Captain Crozier walking away from his ship while sailors chant his name after he was relieved from duty for blowing the whistle on a coronavirus contamination aboard the USS Roosevelt.

He sacrificed himself and it sounds like everyone knows it.

The Trump administration just changed its description of the national stockpile to jibe with Jared Kushner’s controversial claim https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/04/03/jared-kushner-stands-trump-proceeds-offer-very-tr...

@Chris Lu: "The small business loan/grant program is one of key pillars in providing some level of financial stability. A week after this bill is passed, they're setting up a program, so there are going to be bumps in the road. It's critical these applications get processed."

@Chris Lu: "We're essentially turning off the economy-When we try to flip back on, I think a lot of companies b/c of the assistance we're providing will be able to restart up. A lot of these other mom and pop operations simply can't survive no matter what relief is provided."

On unemployment claims,  @Chris Lu: "I don't think we expected 700,000 jobs being lost. That's a jaw-dropping number. The unemployment rate went up more than any time since 1975. And I think this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of bad economic numbers."  #AMRstaff

Joining  @Andrea Mitchell on  @MSNBC at noon ET to discuss today’s  #JobsReport and the need to get money as fast as possible to workers and small businesses.

Georgia Senator Loeffler sold shares of an online travel company just before Trump's European travel ban announcement. What's more, she had just purchased those shares 4 days earlier https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-03/georgia-senator-loeffler-did-quick-dump-of-travel...

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — More than 5,000 medical masks that Montgomery County received from the national stockpile were rotted, the local emergency management director said Thursday.

Adding a few: -Trump ignored warnings from tabletop exercises going back to Jan. 2017 -He's been silent about GOP governors who haven't shut down their states -He's weakened the safety net by undermining ACA and SNAP -He wasted $1.5 trillion on tax cuts for the wealthy

To lose 701,000 jobs in one month is staggering but unfortunately, it's just the tip of the iceberg of bad economic news. From #MorningJoe today. #JobsReport.

SCHUMER wanted  #coronavirus designated a public health emergency on Jan 26 BIDEN wrote an op-ed warning we’re not prepared on Jan 27 And WARREN released an *entire federal plan* to prevent & contain diseases on Jan 28 Dems sounded the alarm months ago. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/04/nobody-expected-the-coronavirus-pandemic-joe-biden-did.html?...
