These shops have had new shutters fitted. They’ve been empty for years so maybe something is happening? @ Westcliff-on-Sea https://www.instagram.com/p/CDmHq0HF7iR/?igshid=14yi373rh3l5d

I presume Murdoch has forgotten it was the Conservative government that took away free licence fee?

Another scare mongering anti/#BBC piece in ⁦@thetimes⁩. They appear on an almost daily basis. Make no mistake this is a concerted campaign by #Murdoch to destroy public broadcasting in this country

2,000 people died from Covid in the U.S. yesterday. Two. Thousand. And today, the president of the United States is headed for his golf course. Historians will be baffled. Baffled.

Every penny this hero raised for the NHS has been lost to Liz Truss' mate who has a company worth £100 on paper.... Let that sink in. #PPEcorruption

Member of the Tory government does something awful. Rides it out till another member of the Tory government does something awful so the previous awful thing is forgotten. Repeat to infinity

Speaking of Thighland, just wait until Trump sees Niger on the teleprompter.

Came across this montage I made for a presentation when working at EC London office. Wonder if future historians will look at who took decisions to bombard UK public with this drivel day after day, why they did it and did it bring them or anyone any gains in the end?

The real truth about the masks.
(This might be faked, though, I'm not sure.)

I used to live near the empty tower block in the photo of this tweet. I guess, thanks to the Tories, it will now be turned into dire housing.

That’s not ‘levelling up’ it’s just ‘up’ for rich people. What else do we expect from a Tory government?! https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/schools-money-richer_uk_5f2c082cc5b6b9cff7ee2807

With a mask, I can sing a long to the Beastie Boys, and no one knows.

I’m up to date with Twitter so I’m looking out of the window of the train. I just saw a magpie standing on a donkey.

I need to stop looking at people. One guy just got on the train and pulled his mask under his chin. I looked up and saw another guy’s reflection in the window and he’s wearing his mask under his nose. How difficult is it to wear one properly?

Also, no one apart from me is wearing a face covering on the platform 🙄

There’s a woman on the platform at Westcliff fanning herself. What’s she going to be doing when it gets hot this afternoon?!

Think about this for a moment... Our Govt gave £225m of taxpayers’ money to a £100 company, owned by a friend of Minister Liz Truss, for PPE that cannot be used... Yet people are living on the streets, children go hungry each day.  #ToryCorruption

The year of my birth was pretty hot. I seem to remember that my parents said there was bad snow drifts in the winter too.

Remember when the Tories endlessly praised a 100-year-old for dragging himself around a garden to raise £32million and then spent £150million buying 50 million unusable masks from an offshore banker with no history of supplying medical equipment

The Conservative Government allowed the PPE stockpile to run down & then bought 50 million unusable masks from an offshore finance company with no history of providing NHS equipment. Our health workers were not fully protected. Tragically lives were lost. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53672841

'Liz Truss here. Just checking - the company has no experience with PPE and whatever we order will be unusable? Perfect, I'll transfer the millions now.'

I had seen somewhere that Shoeburyness (the eastern part of Southend) was one of the driest parts of the UK, but it is frequently shown on the Met Office daily update, saying it has been the sunniest. Nice.

#Wednesday was a windy day across the #UK with further heavy and persistent rain across parts of Wales and northwest England. In the sunshine across the east Anglia it turned very warm

These are the extremes 👇
